SEC postpones decision on BlackRock’s Ethereum ETF options trading until April 9, 2025.
The agency is also seeking public comments on a similar Fidelity Ethereum ETF proposal.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its ruling on whether to approve options trading for BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF. The agency stated that it requires more time to evaluate the proposal, with a new deadline set for April 9, 2025.

Additionally, the SEC is requesting public feedback on a separate proposal by Cboe BZX Exchange to list options for Fidelity’s Ethereum ETF. Comments must be submitted within 21 days of publication in the Federal Register.

This delay follows heightened interest in Ethereum-based financial products, with investors closely watching whether the SEC will take a more crypto-friendly stance under new leadership.
