Google Cloud has launched a new Blockchain Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service to simplify the interaction between crypto developers and blockchain data, enhancing the reliability of decentralized applications (DApps). Initially compatible with the Ethereum mainnet and testnet, the service plans to expand to additional blockchains within the next year.
The new RPC service offers a free tier, providing up to 100 call requests per second and one million requests per day, supporting Ethereum's EIP-1474 RPC methods. Fully compatible with Ethereum’s JSON-RPC standard, this service allows developers to integrate it into Ethereum-based DApps with minimal effort.
RPC reliability has been a significant challenge for crypto developers, as delays or errors can affect DApp performance, especially during high network activity. Google Cloud's service aims to mitigate these issues, offering a more seamless development experience.
Google Cloud's initiative follows its earlier launch of the Web3 Portal, a product suite providing resources for blockchain developers. While the portal received mixed reviews, the new RPC service marks a step towards improving blockchain infrastructure and supporting DApp developers.
As Google Cloud plans to extend its blockchain support, the service could play a crucial role in addressing the reliability challenges faced by developers and enhancing the overall performance of decentralized applications.
