Bybit Hackers Use Crypto Mixers to Launder Stolen $1.4B, CEO Confirms

Bybit CEO Ben Zhou has revealed that hackers responsible for the largest crypto theft in history ($1.4B) are actively using crypto mixers to launder their stolen funds. The group, linked to North Korea’s Lazarus Group, has already funneled 193 BTC into mixing services, with 86.29% of stolen ETH converted to Bitcoin and spread across 9,117 wallets.

Despite efforts to freeze assets, 7.6% of the stolen funds are now untraceable, while 3.54% have been successfully locked down through exchange cooperation. Bybit’s bounty program has received over 5,000 reports, with 63 verified leads, as investigators work to decode mixer transactions and recover assets.
