The Bybit hack remains one of the largest crypto heists in recent history, with the hacker actively laundering stolen funds. According to Lookonchain monitoring, the attacker is using THORChain to obfuscate transactions, having already cleaned 270,000 ETH ($605M), which represents 54% of the stolen funds.
Despite the massive laundering effort, the hacker still holds 229,395 ETH ($514M). Security experts and blockchain analysts are closely tracking the transactions, while exchanges remain on high alert to block any suspicious inflows.
This case highlights the increasing use of cross-chain platforms for illicit fund movements, raising concerns over security measures within DeFi protocols. Authorities and cybersecurity firms are working to mitigate further laundering attempts and trace the stolen assets.
