An Argentine law firm has taken legal action against the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), seeking to uncover the masterminds behind the recent collapse of the LIBRA token. The lawsuit, filed on February 17, accuses unnamed individuals of orchestrating the massive market crash that saw LIBRA's value plummet nearly 90% within hours of launch.
The legal action also raises concerns over the potential involvement of Argentine President Javier Milei, who initially promoted the token on social media before later distancing himself. Alongside this, the ARI Civic Alliance has filed a separate lawsuit, demanding a Justice Department investigation into bribery and fraud allegations linked to Milei.
With growing political and legal scrutiny, the LIBRA debacle is turning into an international controversy, raising questions about regulatory oversight and government accountability in crypto markets.
