In Brief:
Korean police are discussing the possibility of a compulsory investigation into President Yoon Seok-yeol.
Plans include seizing communication records and searching the presidential residence.

On December 13, South Korea's National Investigation Headquarters announced that it is exploring a compulsory investigation into President Yoon Seok-yeol. The investigation may involve seizing the president's communication records and searching his residence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

This comes after the police attempted to search the Presidential Office on December 11 but were blocked by security guards during a standoff lasting several hours. Prior to this, the Korean police conducted seizure operations at several government institutions, including the National Assembly Security Guard and the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

The Special Investigation Team emphasized that the search and seizure plan is currently in the "discussion stage." The investigation's outcome could have significant political and legal implications for the sitting president.

This development marks an escalation in political tensions in South Korea and raises questions about the balance of power between the presidency and law enforcement. The outcome of these discussions could influence public trust and the political landscape.
