In Brief:
Federal judge lifts restraining order, allowing the Trump administration to proceed with enforcing the resignation deadline.
Mass layoffs already took place at TTS and CFPA, with DOGE leading efforts to reduce the federal workforce.

A U.S. District Judge ruled in favor of the Trump administration, stating that federal employee unions lack standing to challenge the resignation deadline. The decision allows the Government Efficiency (DOGE) team to proceed with workforce reductions across federal agencies.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) had originally set a February 6 deadline for employees to decide whether to resign or accept a guaranteed pay package until September 30, 2025. The court’s ruling clears the way for further layoffs, as the administration pushes forward with its federal workforce reduction plans.
